Gasbuddy.com puts the statewide average price for gas today at $2.43 a gallon, which is up more than a dime in the last week, and it’s up about 15 cents in the last month. A year ago the statewide average was about 90 cents lower than where it is now. By comparison the national average today is at $2.25 a gallon, which is up 8 cents a gallon in the last week, and it’s up 18 cents a gallon in the last month. A year ago the national average was $3.35 a gallon.
