Reno firefighters arrest a repeat arson offender in connection with allegedly setting a series o fires. Justin Cloughly faces third-degree arson charges. Investigators say he set three fires-one involving a car and a fence and another brush fire behind the Sam’s Club on Redfield Parkway Wednesday.

Kayaker taking on water rescued in South Lake Tahoe

Firefighters and police rescue a kayaker whose boat was taking on water in South Lake Tahoe. People heard a man yelling for help on Regan Beach Wednesday afternoon. Paramedics took the kayaker-who nearly drowned-to Barton Memorial, where at last check, he was in serious condition, but expected to survive.

Human remains found in Yerington identified as CA man

Human remains found last month in Yerington have been identified. The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the remains belong to Kevin McVay of Joshua Tree, California. McVay’s boddy was found by a worker doing irrigation in a field near the Yerington Garden Apartments. No cause of death has been determined.

Carson City sees 1st COVID-19 death

Carson City sees its first death from COVID-19. The city’s health and human services department says a woman in her 70s with underlying health conditions died from coronavirus. There’s also five new cases in the Quad-County region, bringing the total number of cases to 68. 25 persons have recovered.
