The furloughs of more than 60,000 MGM workers could turn into layoffs. The company’s CEO says a tourism forecast predicts some furloughed workers may not report back for another six months. On Thursday, Washoe County officials reported one new death, 25 additional recoveries and eight new COVID-19 cases. According to the health district, today’s eight new cases marks the second day in a row that Washoe County had its lowest number of new cases since March 27.

Man shot, killed by Sparks police identified
