Police have deemed a recently deadly shooting in Verdi an act of self defense. News 4 reports deputies responded to a home on the 3200 block Mario Drive at 3 a.m. on Sept. 26 on the report of a shooting. When they got on scene, they 51-year-old James Morais suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The neighbor who shot him said Morais snuck into his home in the middle of the night.
