Reno police shut down roads in the Wellington and Yorkshire area Thursday afternoon while responding to a person barricaded in a home believed to have committed crimes earlier in the morning. Officers with the Reno Police Department (RPD) determined the person barricading in the area had fired a gun into a 7-11 earlier in the day. A SWAT team eventually entered the home to find the person had died by suicide. Their identity is not being released until police are able to notify their next of kin.
