More open space could be coming to Lemmon Valley. The Lemmon Valley Home Acquisitions Phase 1 grant would give the county more than $1 million. The money would be used to buy five properties that were hard-hit by flooding in Swan Lake years ago. Those properties would them remain as permanent open space to prevent mitigation costs in case of floods in the future.
