The Washoe County School District stands to lose $20 million over the next three years after a judge tossed its lawsuit against the county over tax refunds, according to News 4. Washoe County is deducting school district funding as part of its refund to Incline Village homeowners that overpaid on the property taxes in the early 2000s. School district officials had argued that withholding that money would be a financial burden for the district.
