‘Seasonal smoke’ likely to become regular phenomenon as wildfires get worse

As wildfires become more frequent and dangerous, during wildfire season, residents of Lake Tahoe may soon have to prepare for a new phenomenon-seasonal smoke. Wildfire smoke has plagued the basin for the past month. The Tahoe Daily Tribune reports over the last two weeks, South Lake Tahoe and Incline Village have had the worst air quality in the U.S., far exceeding recommended levels. The EPA says smoke inhalation can be more dangerous than other pollutants.
