A grim milestone as 800 Washoe County residents have died from COVID-19-related illnesses, according to the Washoe County Health District. 100 of the deaths in Washoe County have come in the last 42 days. Of the 100 recent deaths, 84 of them were unvaccinated. The other 16 who died from COVID-19 were fully vaccinated but all had underlying health conditions. According to the NV Health Response COVID-19 Dashboard, 258,060 people have been fully vaccinated in Washoe County, which makes up 63.16% of the population 12 years and older.
