Contact tracers overwhelmed as COVID cases spike in Washoe County

Contact tracers are overwhelmed in Washoe County. Health officials say they’ll no longer reach out to every new positive case in the county due to a rapid increase in cases. They’ll be prioritizing outreach to children ages 5-12. Persons who work in schools and transportation will also be prioritized in an effort to keep schools open Washoe County. But air quality was so bad in Washoe County right now, schools had to close today there and in Incline Village too. It’s all due to wildfires burning in California, particularly the Caldor Fire burning near Lake Tahoe.
