Two civilians are hospitalized after being injured in the Caldor Fire, burning in the Grizzly Flats area of El Dorado County. The 6,500-acre fire broke out four days ago-taking with it some structures. More than 2,000 buildings remain in the fire’s path; the fire is zero percent contained. An evacuation center at Diamond Springs Fire Hall is now full prompting a second shelter to open at the Cameron Park Community Services District. The fire, combined with the Dixie Fire, is sending smoke into the Reno/Sparks area making air quality unhealthy.
