Northern Nevada’s top health officer is pointing the finger at the unvaccinated, saying they’re the reason the state is moving backwards and reinstating an indoor mask mandate. Washoe County Health Officer Kevin Dick called it an “unwelcome” but “necessary” move amid the spike in COVID-19 cases tied to the Delta variant. Nevada saw 1,179 new cases statewide Wednesday–that’s the highest level since February. State health officials say just 47 percent of residents 12 and older are fully vaccinated while 57% has received at least one shot.
