Two massive fires combine in Plumas County. The U.S. Forest Service says the Dotta Fire and the Sugar Fire near Beckwourth have combined to become the Beckwourth Complex Fire. The Dotta Fire, which is sending smoke into Reno, spans 670 acres and is just about a quarter contained. The Sugar Fire spans 470 acres and is less contained. With resources stretched thin over the holiday weekend and hot weather, the fires are expected to grow. Full containment may not be until August.
