Evacuation orders have been lifted in northern Douglas County – where a wildfire is now contained. The 700-acre Jacks Valley fire is burning west of Jacks Valley and was fueled by strong; it had threatened structures. U.S. 395 remained opened during firefighting efforts. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. A FEMA grant will cover 75% of firefighting costs.
