Washoe County Health Officer Kevin Dick does not endorse county commissioners’ COVID-19 mitigation plans. Despite recommendations from health authorities, the plan doesn’t wait until June 1st to drop social distancing requirements. Instead, the county seeks to drop social distancing rules on May 1. The health officer says by June 1st, 50% more of the population in Washoe County could be vaccinated. The state’s COVID-19 Task Force is slated to vote on the county’s plans today.
