Washoe County’s COVID reopening plans are heading to the state’s COVID-19 task force Thursday for approval. In plans approved by commissioners Tuesday, businesses would no longer be subject to capacity restrictions beginning May 1st. Strip clubs and nightclubs would reopen June 1st when social distancing restrictions would cease. Private gatherings would not be policed, and any event with more than 500 people would need specific county approval. The plans indicate restrictions could be reintroduced if the Truckee Meadows COVID-19 Risk Meter hits red or new cases reach 625 per 100,000 people. A statewide mask mandate remains in effect.
