Snowpack in CA ‘well-below normal’ as next drought set to start

The snowpack in the Sierra is well-below normal. California’s Department of Water Resources says the snowpack was 59% of the April 1st average. April 1st is the date when snowpack is traditionally the deepest and has the highest water content. The findings come after a second dry winter as California and Nevada enter another drought.
