Nevada’s COVID-19 Task Force rejects Washoe County’s COVID mitigation plans. The task force rejected the county’s plans over its attempt to leap-frog the state’s timeline for dropping social distancing requirements by a full month. Washoe county had proposed dropping social distancing on May 1st instead of on June 1st-when the state recommends it-since half of the county’s population would then be vaccinated. Neither Reno nor Washoe County’s health officer endorsed the plans. Now it’s back to the drawing board for county commissioners.
