Several rural Nevada counties are asking the state’s COVID-19 task force to let them reopen now-instead on June 1st when the governor says it’s OK. Among them Lyon County, which wants to open fully on May 1st. Washoe County delayed presenting its plan to the task force after its chief health officer pointed to a spike in COVID cases in the Reno-Sparks area. Washoe health officer Kevin Dick called for a balance between ensuring health and a prosperous economy.
