Final snowpack survey of 2021 yields ‘disappointing’ results

The final snowpack survey of the year reveals disappointing results. Hydrologists say snowpack was measured at 63% of normal. They say it peaked below normal and is melting earlier than normal too. The below normal levels aren’t expected to impact the Truckee River much, but Bill Hauck with the Truckee Meadows Water Authority predicted the Carson River could be dry by July 4th. KOLO-TV reports Lake Tahoe could be close to its natural rim by the end of the year.
