As COVID-19 restrictions ease across the state, Washoe County School District Superintendent Kristen McNeil continues to recommend hybrid learning for middle and high school students with just three months left in the school year. She says flipping to full-time in-classroom instruction isn’t that simple-since it involves transportation and social distancing. The school board is expected to vote on her recommendation today.
The school board is also expected to vote on whether to cut gifted programs at various schools. The measure is back up for consideration after school board members said they were blindsided by it January and wanted to study the ramifications further.
