For the first time in more than a decade, Greater Nevada Field is getting some major league upgrades. It’s getting a totally new field-new grass, sand, and even dirt. 2 News reports the 2,000 tons of old grass, sand, and dirt is finding a new home too. The grass is going to composting, the sand to area golf courses, and the dirt heads to local high school baseball fields. The new field will be ready for opening day.
