Washoe Health District estimates 8-10 weeks for seniors to get 1st COVID vaccine dose

The Washoe County Health District is estimating it will take between 8 and 10 weeks to vaccinate the area’s senior population-who are 70 and older. That’s with the first dose. The second dose, required between 21 and 28 days later, means the population won’t be fully vaccinated for at least 14 weeks. But timelines can vary since Health District Officer Kevin Dick says they have no clue how much vaccine they’ll get from the federal government week-to-week.
