Ice skating rink in south Reno could open soon

An ice skating rink in south Reno could open this week. Reno Ice’s anticipated arrival has been delayed a dew times with construction beginning on the first of two rinks last April after a five-year fundraising effort. The Reno Gazette-Journal reports a non-profit raised $9.5 million for the NHL-sized rink. Reno Ice plans to hold hockey games, curling matches, broomball, and ice skating lessons. There’s room for 900 people – in non-coronavirus times.
