Travel strongly discouraged through Greater Lake Tahoe with Blizzard Warning in effect

Travel through the Greater Lake Tahoe area is strongly discouraged with conditions downright treacherous and visibility at zero in some places. A Blizzard Warning remains in effect in the Greater Lake Tahoe area through Friday morning. Up to four feet of snow is expected. We could see winds of up to 50 miles per hour in areas of lower elevation. In the mountains, expect white-out conditions with winds gusting up to 100 miles per hour. Wave heights on Lake Tahoe could surge up to 5 feet.
