State health officials facing a backlog in contact tracing abilities due to a rapid rise in COVID-19 cases are unveiling a new way they hope to get to people faster. They’ve launched an exposure notification system that notifies you if you’ve been within 6 feet of someone who’s COVID positive for 15 minutes or more. It uses Bluetooth technology and is anonymous…but state officials do recommend you download the COVID Trace app – -though it’s not needed to opt into the notifications.
