As many as 100 homes are threatened by a fire that broke out last night in the Petersen Mountain Range near Stead. Truckee Meadows firefighters say the Baccarat Fire spans about 1,400 acres and evacuations are in place for areas west of Red Rock Road between Chuckwagon and Columbia Hill roads. Those who’ve been evacuated can head to the Washoe County Senior Center.
