The annual 4th of July fireworks show is canceled in Storey County due to rising COVID-19 cases. County officials also say fire-prone conditions are another reason for the cancellation. County manager Austin Osborne says the decision is what’s best for the health and safety of the community. The Independence Day Cruise is still running at noon Saturday along with a flyover from the Nevada Air National Guard.
