Steady Stream of COVID-19 Cases in Washoe County

An average of 25 Washoe County residents a day are testing positive for COVID-19 in the first week of May. Washoe County is still seeing a steady stream of new coronavirus cases. The county has a total of 1,022 confirmed cases since March 5, when the first resident tested positive for the virus. Nearly 15 percent of those have happened in the first six days of May, with 151 new cases. Health officials say most cases come from people involved in social gatherings and they encourage social distancing.
