Pastors call on governor to reopen places of worship

Hundreds of pastors across the state are calling on Governor Steve Sisolak to reopen places of worship in Phase 1, which got underway nine days ago. In a letter, the pastors call worship “essential” and are asking the governor to reopen churches, synagogues, and mosques by the end of the month. They say they can hold services safely by requiring masks and practicing social distancing. Sisolak acknowledged the letter, but was hesitant to give in. He says he wants churches open, but services often include the elderly-the population most vulnerable to the virus.
