Winter’s not over quite yet. Snow returned to the Reno-Sparks area and the Sierra this weekend after what was an unseasonably dry February. The storm caused significant travel disruptions along I-80. A foot of new snow was reported at Mt. Rose Ski resort. South Lake Tahoe saw about 8 inches. At Reno-Tahoe Airport, just over an inch-and-a-half of snow was reported. An inch fell in Spanish Springs.
Wind also caused some damage in Carson City Sunday. Strong gusts blew fences and trees down and damaged some homes in the area.
