The US Marshals Service says an alleged member of a terrorist organization within El Salvador was arrested in Carson City on Wednesday. Officials said Rene Antonio “Scrappy” Hernandez-Mejia was wanted out of El Salvado. According to Interpol, he was a part of 18 Revolutionary Pandilla, which is a faction of an El Salvadorian gang called Shadow Park Locos, also known as SPL. The US Marshals Service said Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was able to arrest Hernandez-Mejia because of his illegal status in the US.
