Woman Finds Bullet Hole in Window

South Lake Tahoe Police say they don’t think a shooting Thursday morning was random. Police got a call from a woman who says she found a bullet hole in her window. She lives in the 3000 block of Fresno Avenue, and told officers she woke up to a loud noise around 3 a.m. When she woke up again, she found what she says is a bullet hole in her bedroom window. if you have any info, call the south Lake Tahoe police.

Casino Winnings Down Again

Casinos in Nevada won nearly $982 million from gamblers in May, down almost 6 percent compared with more than $1 billion during the same month a year ago, this according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board . It was the fifth consecutive year-over-year decrease in statewide “gaming win,” and the sharpest monthly decrease this year for the key measurement of state fiscal health. Las Vegas Strip casino winnings were down more than 11% in May compared with a year ago, which board senior analyst Michael Lawton attributed to baccarat card play.

Reno Stabbing Suspect Arrested After Returning to Scene of Crime

Reno Police arrested 27 year old Jon Paul Mcinnes on an attempted murder charge regarding a stabbing Wednesday night in West Reno. The stabbing happened at around 8:30 p.m at the Gateway Inn. Officials say a woman was stabbed, sexually assaulted, strangled and bitten by her boyfriend. While officers were working the crime scene, the suspect returned and was taken into custody. He is being charged with attempted murder, domestic battery by strangulation, sexual assault, and preventing a 911 call.

Sen. Sanders Says There’s a Lack of Affordable Housing in Reno

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has released an online campaign video spotlighting the lack of affordable housing in Reno. The Vermont senator’s campaign released a video Wednesday featuring interviews with a northern Nevada tenant rights activist, footage of a Sanders rally in Reno this year and images of homeless encampments and renovated apartments. Sanders is among several Democratic presidential candidates discussing affordable housing plans on the campaign trial. He has proposed expanding a national affordable housing trust fund, allowing cities and towns to use rent control and other measures to make housing more affordable.
