Zephyr Cove beachfront property destroyed by high water

Beachfront properties in Lake Tahoe have been damaged by high water levels. The Tahoe Daily Tribune reports sea walls are falling down and some beaches have disappeared with sand being sucked into the lake near Zephyr Cove. Some have asked the water master to drop the lake’s levels, but he says he’s bound by the law to keep it at just over 6,200 ft. Currently the lake is 4 inches from its legal limit and the dam is consistently letting water out.
