1,800 seniors in Washoe Co. apply for ‘free’ college

Thousands of students across Nevada are applying for free college. It’s all part of the Nevada Promise Scholarship program that gives students free tuition at one of the state’s four community colleges. The Reno Gazette-Journal reports nearly 1,800 in Washoe County have signed up for free tuition from Truckee Meadows Community College. The money covers expenses like fees and registration that aren’t covered by financial aid.
