Selfie on Washoe school bus prompts overcrowding outcry

Overcrowding at Washoe Schools has spread to the school bus. A student from Spanish Springs High School snapped a selfie of students sitting on the floor in the middle of rows saying “Over crowded much?” Parents say they’re appalled. Washoe County School’s transportation director Rick Martin says the buses can hold 84 students-but it means three to a seat and he says it’s not appropriate for high schoolers. He blames the substitute bus driver for not ordering students to sit three-to-a-seat and says them sitting on the floor is a huge safety risk.
