Local Gambling Revenue Shows Increase, Despite Statewide Slide

Local gambling revenues are looking better than statewide. Gambling revenue was down 3 percent statewide in March, compared with the same month a year ago. The Nevada Gaming Control Board says the state’s casinos won 951 million dollars last month. However, revenue was down in the areas with the most gambling activities, including the Las Vegas strip. On the positive side, Reno casino revenue was up 1% to $47 million, and South Lake Tahoe revenue was up 23% to $17 million in March.
