Reno working to open new homeless shelter after vandalism

Reno plans to open a new overflow shelter for the homeless next week. News 4 reports vandalism inside the city’s current shelter made the building unusable-sending 110 homeless people out onto the street or to other volunteer shelters. City officials say they have a new place in mind for the shelter and are trying to fast-track lease negotiations, but the building still needs security remodeling and sanitation improvements.
