Murder charges may be dropped against a man who shot and killed his wife at the Carson-Tahoe Medical Center last year. The Carson City District Attorney has filed to dismiss the charges against 89-year-old William Dresser. Dresser says he killed his 86-year-old wife because doctors told her she would be a quadriplegic and she told him she no longer wanted to live. William Dresser also tried to kill himself, but the gun jammed. The Carson City DA says trial and incarceration would be too costly and the victim wanted to die.
