A drunk driver who killed two people in South Lake Tahoe last summer is going to prison for 12 years. 28 year old Megan Hickel pleaded guilty to two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. It happened on the evening of July 4. After viewing a Fourth of July fireworks display in South Lake Tahoe, Richard Schwab and his wife Kelly Schwab were returning home to Dixon on Highway 50 when their motorcycle was struck by Hickel’s vehicle. The Schwabs were killed instantly.
