Washoe County Sheriff’s deputies are taking action to protect people who suffer from Alzheimer’s and dementia. They’re creating so-called “Wandering Kits” for caretakers. The kits include door knob covers, door alarms, and a lock with a screwdriver kit. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is also teaming up with the Reno and Sparks police departments to utilize the Care Trak tracking system, which uses radio waves to help locate missing persons who are at high risk due to special needs. Caregivers are urged to contact Kids to Seniors Korner in Reno to get a Cake Trak transmitter and a free kit. You can call 775-858-5251 to get yours today.
