State officials say Nevada’s unemployment rate held flat at 7.7 percent in July. The state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation reported Friday that while the number didn’t drop month-to-month, it was still down 2.2 percentage points compared with a year ago. Gov. Brian Sandoval said he’s pleased that the state’s economic outlook remains positive, but added that Nevada needs to be vigilant to continue its slow but steady recovery. Reno and Carson City’s numbers were both flat.
