The Washoe County Commission votes to remove flood barriers around Swan Lake. Commissioners voted to fund the removal of the barriers-with one objection. Councilwoman Jeanne Herman voted to remove the barriers, but cautioned removing the barriers for cosmetic reasons could leave the area unprotected and unprepared. Similar barriers were removed around Silver Lake in Stead earlier this year.
