2nd known case of COVID-19 variant found in southern CA

The second known case of a highly contagious strain of coronavirus is found in California. Governor Gavin Newsom says the case involves a man in San Diego County. It comes just one day after the variant was first identified in a Colorado National Guardsman. The strain was first identified in the UK prompting travel changes on Christmas Day that require those coming to the US from the UK to provide a negative COVID-19 test.
