UNR confirms 1st positive case on-campus since fall semester started

UNR confirms its first positive case of COVID-19 since the fall semester officially got underway. An email went out to students, yesterday, within 24 hours of the COVID-19 confirmation. University officials won’t say whether the infected person is a student or faculty member-but say they were last on-campus Monday and are now recovering at home.

North Complex Fire near Susanville still growing

The North Complex Fire near Susanville continues to rage. The fire, sparked by lightning weeks ago, now spans nearly 55,000 acres and is just 21 percent contained. Initially, 21 fires broke out in that complex. Sixteen of them have been contained.

5 arrested for vandalism at Golden Eagle Regional Park

Five people-four men and a juvenile-are arrested in connection with vandalism in Golden Eagle Regional Park. Police say the suspects were caught red-handed with graffiti materials in their possession Tuesday night near the Pah Rah Interpretive Trial. Their arrests were the result of stepped up patrols.
