Fifty-thousand people showed up for the Star Spangled Sparks Show on the 4th of July. The fireworks show went off without a hitch, sending 5,000 lbs. of fireworks into the sky. Despite the rain and wind, attendees saw the fireworks with the Nugget CEO telling KOLO-TV in their 16 years of doing the show, weather has never gotten in the way.
Crews spent much of Sunday cleaning up there and on Lake Tahoe’s beaches following the 4th of July holiday. 2 News says that Keep Tahoe Blue reported that clean-up efforts after last year’s festivities netted 2,300 lbs. of trash, including 3,000 cigarette butts, 1,200 cans and 800 glass bottles.
