Lake Lahontan nearly empty due to ongoing drought

Parts of the Lake Lahontan Reservoir are bone dry nearly two years after its boat ramp shut down. 2 News reports four years of drought has caused plants to grow in areas that were under water. At the east side of the park, there’s just enough water to get your feet wet or maybe go fishing. Visitation at the park has plummeted, causing a steep decline in revenues too. Officials are still trying to push the lake as a nice place to camp, but not cool off.
