The Nevada Treasurer’s office is working on a plan that will pay parents $5,000 to remove their child from the public school system and enroll them in private school. The Reno-Gazette Journal reports the state treasurer is drafting program guidelines so that parents can start applying for the funds in January of next year. Nevada’s public schools rank among the worst in the nation though K-12 education is expected to get a massive boost of new funding through tax hikes.
