Sparks City Council will discuss a possible settlement in the case of two men who claim the city’s SWAT officers illegally detained them. The Reno-Gazette Journal reports the potential settlement is in the amount of $70,000. Two men, who were driving on Highway 95 in 2009 claim the SWAT officers violated their Fourth Amendment rights and assaulted them. The city argues one of those men assaulted a paramedic in road rage and that the officers acted appropriately.
