Abortion notification bill draws heated debate

It’s one of the most controversial issues this legislative session, and it drew a packed house. Emotional, and at times, heated testimony came before a state Senate Committee Monday that’s considering a bill that would require doctors to notify parents of minors if they’re seeking an abortion. Supporters say parents have a right to know. Opponents say this could drive girls to get dangerous abortions. The measure already passed out of the Assembly on a 24 to 17 vote.
